Sleep

Sleep is very important for everybody, especially the toddlers of this age. Their activity induces sleep. It has been proved that the toddlers require about 14 hours of sleep in a day. However, there being away to the Pre-school and increased activity at home, may not allow them this luxury. If a child is having sleep problems like encountering nightmares, due attention needs to be given by the parents for solving it.

Lack of sleep may affect the child for a long time to come. Proper sleep is akin to the recharging battery of the brain. It makes the children mentally alert and very positively increases their attention span. Children’s sleep should be in line with their biological clocks. 

Safety and Security

Their safety and security are of paramount interest. These children are overactive and can easily get into a hazardous situation because of being ignorant of the risks. These hazards can be outside the house or even inside. Therefore, they should always be under the watchful eyes to save them from any risks.

External risks and how to prevent them:

  •     Water sources: They should not be allowed to play near rivers, lakes, ponds other water bodies without any the adult being close to them. They should learn swimming to avoid drowning.
  •     Road crossing: They should be properly trained to cross the roads only at a zebra crossing.
  •    Strangers: Some evil-mongers are in the business of kidnapping the children and ask their parents for a ransom amount. The children should be trained not to trust strangers under any circumstances.
  •     Playgrounds: It is risky to let them play alone there. They may get hurt in the game of elder children.

Internal risks and how to prevent them:

  •    Taking small objects inside their mouths: Sometimes, they may get lured by some object and place it in their mouth. This may choke them instantly causing serious consequences, even death.
  •     Risky items: Every house is full of the items that are useful but can prove to be very risky in the hands of the children. These can be matchboxes, knives, scissors, electrical equipment, pointed objects etc. There are many poisonous substances like medicines, rat kills, acids, cleaners etc. which may be consumed by them accidentally.
  •    Risk of being alone: If the child is left alone in the bathroom, he or she may even drown in the bathtub. They may burn themselves with hot boiling water or fire from the stove. All the electrical points like sockets etc. should be out of their reach.
  • Technical Gadgets

These days, every house is having technical gadgets like Television, music system, mobile phones, computers and many more. These can be good and useful for the adults but can prove to be very harmful for the small children. As it is, these have attractions of their own and draw the eyeballs of everyone. The children get attracted to them very fast. However, these cause immense harm to their raw minds. They may get eyes and ears’ problems besides mental agony watching these. The gadgets are habit-forming and may, eventually, affect their studies in the long run.

Pre-school Activity


  • They come straight from their mother’s lap and are totally raw. Famous American Businessman Malcolm Forbes had said, The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”       
  • The pre-schools do just that. They give these toddlers a very important platform. They train them for the proper schools and make them ready to learn, in a playful manner. They enjoy being there-Singing Rhymes; Listening and Telling Stories; Sketching and Painting; Dancing; Reciting Poems; Participating in the School Programmes and Learning-learning-learning all the way. The pre-school activities boost their persona and help them meet many cognitive milestones effortlessly.
  • They enjoy going to the school, becoming independent, gradually, by brushing their teeth, dressing up and picking up new words, numbers, and activities. 
  • They also learn the synchronization with other students; play co-operative games and interact with others.
  • They enjoy their playtime which may include outdoor as well as indoor games. The purpose is to make them learn while getting the joy of entertainment on the side.
  • They also, get to learn the language because of their close interaction with the others.
  • Overall, pre-school is a very nice place to instill social and cognitive skills in them.

Conclusion

Mr. and Mrs. Singh learned a great deal through these interactions about rearing their children in a proper manner. They had practically observed that Saumitra was coming out to be a very fine boy. He had the tendency of sibling rivalry with Saumya earlier, prior to his joining the Pre-school but now he had begun to treat her with love and affectionate care. He enjoyed play-acting, as a teacher, in the home. This had made him more responsible now. Singhs hoped that he was getting shaped as a fine boy with interests in studies as well as games.
